Join us and become part of the growing community of Mt. Lebanon residents, who believe safer streets, designed for people make life better for everyone.

SAFER CROSSWALKS | TRAFFIC CALMING | IMPROVED SIDEWALKS | ACCESSIBLITY

Move Lebo is a 501(c)(3) organization, independent of the municipality, working to improve the ways we get around. We hear you and share the same desire to experience our community in a way that builds connection and a sense of place. Move Lebo is working to create a more connected community that prioritizes pedestrian safety and people-centered design. Mt. Lebanon is well positioned to reinvent itself as a leader in the region, demonstrating what is possible when you design for people, not cars.

TOGETHER & FORWARD

Championing a more active, people-centric, and liveable Mt. Lebanon by advocating for a more connected community.

Our streets are our largest public resource and they should serve everyone. We are re-imagining our streets as places that are welcoming to all. Where any way you choose to move through Mt. Lebanon is safe and simple.

We want to create a more livable world that is people-focused, not car-centric. A place that’s cleaner, quieter, and safer. A place where connection can happen.

We advocate for safer streets by working with the municipality, the school district, and local businesses, by promoting solutions, not just pointing out problems.

We educate the community on what our streets could be. Design greatly influences street speed and there are many changes that can be implemented to lower speed and accommodate more types of movement. Knowledge is power and together we can all advocate for solutions that work.

We want to encourage walking and biking by sharing what we’ve learned while biking and walking through the municipality. Where are the secret walking shortcuts? What is the safest intersection for crossing Washington Rd? Where can I park my bike? Together we want to create a resource that can serve others, and hopefully can inform future road design.

Biking and walking are fun and we want to share our enthusiasm through events that bring people together and get them moving. Going against the status quo can be hard and we want to make it easier by removing some roadblocks, even if it’s only for an afternoon. Through demonstrations and activities, we want to bring people together and show what the world could be, so we can achieve it. Together.
